Custom made to measure
Lace wedding dresses, hand-sewn to your measurements
A lace wedding dress uses lace over or within the bodice and skirt, from soft all-over Chantilly to classic French Alençon, romantic 3D florals and modern geometric patterns. At Lace & Liberty every lace piece is hand-sewn and placed for your design, and our San Francisco studio displays our top 70–80 lace styles.

Lace Wedding Dresses: frequently asked questions
What types of lace are used in wedding dresses?
Common bridal laces include soft all-over Chantilly lace, classic French Alençon lace, romantic 3D floral lace and modern geometric lace. We cut lace into smaller sections and individual pieces to design it into your neckline, bodice and skirt.
Can I see the lace in person?
Yes. Our San Francisco showroom is also our design studio, with a full range of bridal fabrics to touch and our top 70–80 lace styles on display. Book a free one-hour appointment at 1301 Castro St.
Can I choose a different lace for a collection dress?
Yes. Talk to a designer about swapping or adding lace, changing the neckline, lining color, sleeves and train length. Small customizations start at $250.
Is the lace hand-sewn?
Yes. Every button, sequin, bead and lace piece is hand-sewn onto the fabric. We once hand-stitched over 200 pieces of lace to a single dress.
How much does a custom lace wedding dress cost?
Lace & Liberty custom gowns range from $1,500 to $5,500, and most brides spend $2,000–$3,500. Customizations to an existing collection design start at $250. Get a personalized number with our price estimate.
