Custom made to measure
A-line wedding dresses, made to your measurements
An A-line wedding dress is fitted through the bodice and flares gradually from the waist to the hem, tracing the shape of a capital “A”. It is the most common silhouette in our bride gallery. Every Lace & Liberty A-line is made to your measurements, with your choice of neckline, sleeves, lace and fabric, from $1,500.

From our brides
“My designer at Lace & Liberty listened to what I wanted and created a sketch that was exactly the dress I had in mind! There were progress pictures sent to me just to make sure everything was going as planned. The final dress was INCREDIBLE.”

A-Line Wedding Dresses: frequently asked questions
What is an A-line wedding dress?
An A-line wedding dress has a fitted bodice and a skirt that widens gradually from the waist to the hem, like the letter A. It sits between a slim sheath and a full ball gown, and works in soft fabrics like tulle and chiffon or structured ones like satin and mikado.
What is the difference between an A-line and a ball gown wedding dress?
Both have a fitted bodice, but an A-line skirt flares gently and gradually, while a ball gown skirt is much fuller, usually with extra layers of tulle or a structured fabric for volume. See our ball gown wedding dresses.
Can I customize an A-line wedding dress from your collection?
Yes. Every dress is made in your own measurements and proportions. Based on any existing design we can change the neckline shape, choose a different lining color, add removable sleeves and straps, add support, specify the train length and more.
How much does a custom A-line wedding dress cost?
Lace & Liberty custom gowns range from $1,500 to $5,500, and most brides spend $2,000–$3,500. Customizations to an existing collection design start at $250. Get a personalized number with our price estimate.
How long does it take to make a custom A-line wedding dress?
Our standard turnaround is about 6 months from the date you order, including consultations, design finalization, production edits and shipping. Rush options of 18, 12 or 8 weeks ($250, $450 or $600) may be available depending on our production schedule and fabric availability. See timing & rush orders.
Can I try on A-line wedding dresses before I order?
Yes. Book a free one-hour appointment at our San Francisco showroom at 1301 Castro St to try on 200+ samples in sizes 0–20, or a free 20-minute virtual design consultation from anywhere. We ship worldwide from San Francisco.
