How much does a custom wedding dress cost?
Our custom design pricing starts at $1500, and goes up to $5500. On average, brides spend between $2000-$3500 on a fully custom gown with us, made to her measurements. Here at Lace & Liberty we've created a unique direct to consumer model where we handle the entire design, dress making and delivery process, and pass on any savings directly to brides, allowing us to co-create with you a unique gown at an accessible price point!
How long does it take to make a custom wedding dress?
Crafting a custom wedding dress typically takes 6months, his timeframe includes consultations, design finalization, production edits and shipment times. We deliver final gowns to brides no less than 4months prior to the wedding date to ensure ample time for final fittings and alterations. We recommend brides start the process 10months to 1 year before the wedding, but we also have rush options available up to 8-12 weeks.
What should I consider before purchasing a custom wedding dress?
- Style: Find out and be confident on what styles look best on you! Be open minded in trying on designs with different neckline, silhouette and fabrics to find out what you love and don't love.
- Budget: Understand the full costs, including the dress design, accessories, as well as final alterations.
- Timeline: Ensure you have enough time for the entire design and fitting process. Leaving enough time for final alterations is also key in planning.
- Comfort: As you'll be wearing your wedding dress for an extended period of time, make sure to consider if your designs also meets your comfort requirements.
- Designer's Expertise: Have a consultation to see if the design team aligns. with your vision and what possibilities and limitations are. Have a look through dress designs that the brand has created for past brides to get inspiration and a good sense of results.
- Alterations: Understand the alteration process, timeline and any associated costs.
